About Us

MISSION STATEMENT

We want to create a local-based Internet Site that will:

Encourage and support local talent, initiatives, and the creation of an online community.

Respond to the varied interests and needs of local residents – both individuals and businesses.

For visitors, newcomers and potential visitors, this guide will provide essential information.

Promot Lancaster + Morecambe around the world to encourage interest and new opportunities that will benefit everyone.

Our immediate goals are:

To create a user-friendly key SITE area with links to as many relevant sites/resources possible.

To offer a platform that is free and independent to represent the real interests of local residents.

To create a forum/threaded message board that allows individuals or groups to exchange ideas and opinions.

To allow others to post notices or classified ads of interest.

To compile a comprehensive list of upcoming events, venues and entertainment, local groups, organisations, businesses, and individuals in the region.

With both local residents and visitors in mind, we created a useful and informative guide to the area.

To offer virtual gallery space for local artists to display their work and celebrate their creativity.

The site is still in its early stages and there are many things to do. These aims and objectives will be met as we continue to develop , the ultimate guide and online resource for Lancaster + Morecambe Area in UK.

We are grateful for your interest.

GET INVOLVED

The work is done on a voluntary basis (unpaid) by volunteers from the community (see credits), and in their free time. Contact us if you are interested in getting involved in any technical or editorial capacity.

You can also support our efforts by regularly using the site (as your main source for information). Online information about the area is available. You can also make use of the many resources and features (such as the public forums, what’s on, etc.). You can also tell others about the site by emailing your friends and mentioning it at the pub. Cheers!

Photographs When you hover your mouse over photos on this site, the name and location of the photographer will be displayed (wherever we know it). We are very grateful for the images provided by people who keep this site interesting and show how active we are.
Please note that photos can only be displayed at low resolution online. We need to keep files small so they don’t take too long to appear on your screens. They lose much of the original clarity and subtlety in colour, and are reduced and shaved so that more interesting details are lost. These images are not representative of the original quality. We can see them in print and on slides. And we stress that they don’t do justice the photographer’s skills. We are grateful to the photographers who allowed us to use their images despite being unable to print them.
