Practice over Easter.

Before the Easter holidays began, i chose to perform a solo work. Before the holidays started, my goal was to be comfortable playing the basic drum rhythm and to be proficient enough to play the entire piece without making any mistakes. Chris wasn’t there to offer much help, so I practiced my way through the first targets. These techniques include recording me and then listening back to correct timing and dynamics. I also practice to the music for 40 minute and then practicing the part in segments.

The major problem I have is the phil on the second-page of the 6th bars. It is the sixth tuplet, which can be played on three toms. I only have two drumkits at home so I had to make the phil adjust to my drum kit. The new Phil includes two sixthtuplets on the kit twice, but the same toms. While it does not sound like the actual phil, it is still the exact same pattern.

The song itself is well-organized and almost finished. All I need to do now is be able to sing the song without making any mistakes.

Targets

  1. To be able and to play the piece correctly without making any mistakes.
  2. To give the piece more energy.
